I'm almost possative you can remove the spoiler and not worry about the trunk leaking, The holes done sit over the opening for the trunk. I had mine off for a few weeks to see if i liked it and the trunk didn't leak once

its not on mine i got some plastic dot lookin things that hold on plactic moldin. and panted them the color of my car. had to buff my lid to make the color mactch up.
the plactic dots i got are just a little bigger than my holes and i super glued them in. you can get bigger plastic things that will hold themselves but i wanted mine smaller. |

Water wont get in your trunk... get some rubber or some kind of caps from autozone.. then match it with your paint color the best you can.

the 99 and 2000 wont leak but the 01-04 will because the holes are in different places, the wings are actually different.

i have had mine on and off a couple times before, but i didnt even consider leaving the holes open, i got some little plastic "button" things for like GM body panels or something, some rtv, and some laser redish duplicolor spray, it worked out really nice, and i like it so much better with the spoiler off, but i put it back on when i thought i was going to have to trade the car in and haven't taken the time to get back to the store to grab some more supplies. one set of the holes is bigger than the other so the buttons wont fit just perfect, but its nothing a little rtv cant handle
.. i priced an average to be 400ish to get the holes filled and everything prepped and painted to awesome quality, not using cheap materials, that is

yeah, ive got a 99 and an 02 had the wings on and off both, the 99-00 do have 6 holes and will not leak into the trunk itself, the 01-04 have 4 holes and will leak into the trunk unless you plug it.
