Difference between 03 and 04?

I was just reading in a post that there was a different 3650 for almost every year, I guess this is true. Do you guys think this is why when I look up parts in the summit mag, it only says, example " short throw shifter, yrs 99-03" and then they just have a separate one for an 04? I don't know. help.

on mustangs, transmissions from 99 to mid 2001 were t-45's then they switched to the 3650.

Yeah, but do you know why they have different products in the magazines between 03 and 04? If you have summit look it up in the 4.6 sections.
