Cobra brake upgrade

Don't know if anyone has posted these before, but I found this on eBay. Looks like a cheap way to do the cobra upgrade. What do you guys think?

Maybe, but if I'm being honest, I do not trust random eBay listings with no manufacturing information for brakes or tires or mostly anything really.

Those aren't Cobra calipers. They are GT/V6 calipers.

I emailed them, they're 13" rotors so I would assume the calipers match. I could be wrong, but I think the pre terminator cobras had the 38mm caliper which I think are stock gt size pistons and the 03-04 had the 40s. I mainly want to do it because the guy before me put 13" rear brakes on my car and it looks kinda stupid with the 11s up front.

Nah, I promise you. You ain't getting twin piston Bullitt/Mach/Cobra calipers with that price. 38mm= before 98 and 40mm=99+

94-98 Cobra front calipers had dual 38mm pistons. 99-04 Cobra/Bullitt/Mach 1 calipers had dual 40mm pistons. 99-04 GT/V6 calipers had dual 44.5mm pistons.

Seems strange the seller is telling you they come with 13" rotors, because the calipers in the first photo in the listing are definitely not Cobra calipers. I would specifically ask the seller if the kit includes Cobra calipers, and not GT/V6 ones.

I would definitely make sure it's the right stuff before buying. It does say the picture is a representation and may not match completely.

Their actual website, not the eBay store, has different part numbers for cobra non cobra stuff. I'm going to email them more and find out.

They emailed me back, they said the calipers are the cobra models. I'm just going to order them and be the test mule. If they're what they say they are it's a super deal, if they're not I'll just return them.

You have to also send back your core calipers...

I've always wondered about that. Will they give back the core charge for GT calipers? They do not advertise that the calipers fit a GT.

wouldn't you potentially need different brake lines with the correct banjo bolt? Just a thought.

I think the stock lines will work but I'm not 100% on that. As far as the core, even if they don't take them I think 250 is still a hell of a deal. If they do and they fit no way you could beat 180 for a 13" brake upgrade. Like I said though, we'll see. For all I know they won't be right, but I should know probably tomorrow or Monday.

Stock lines will bolt up, I put 03 Mach1 brakes on my V6 and the stock lines bolted in fine when I tested it. I ended up going with stainless lines in front since I was already there and figured do it all at once, but either option will work.

Well, had an issue. The rotors and pads showed up without the calipers. I called them and they'll be shipping out on Monday. Not that big of a deal as the car is sitting anyway. So I guess I will see what happ be when they show up Tuesday.

Yes, they're 13". Look like good quality parts, good maching on the drill and slots. No defects that I see.
