good looking car, looks like a great starting point for some mods!!!
you should look into gears next. 4.30s all the way!!!! and use FRPP, they are the best

Welcome to MM. For a stock GT, I believe the 4.30s are a bit too steep if it is a dd. I would probably go with a 4.10s or 3.90s depending on what the car is to be used for. You can't go wrong with MRT mid pipes. They are pricey but top notch. If you are in an emissions state, get the catted version, if not go with the o/r. It will be quite a bit louder which is what you are after. The catback is a matter of personal tastes. Happy modding!

is there a big difference in sound and quality of the mac o/r h and the mrt o/r h..and where do you guys get your o/r pipes installed or do u do it yourselves..because most places wont install illegal parts into a street car..right?

Most small shops don't care what you want put on your car as long as you are willing to pay. If you're not putting headers on- the install will be pretty easy though.

My buddy has an '02 GT with 4.30's and he (and I) love them. Not too much gear at all. Welcome to MM

You can't do gears properly, IMO, without first being shown how by someone with the correct tools and experience. Gears are one of those mods you really should let a pro handle, or get shown by a pro how to do it right. No you don't need a lift, but it makes things much easier. I've done it on my garage floor before.

Yeah the exhaust is something easy you can start on. Make sure to purchase a jack and two jackstands-- You WILL need them if you plan to work on your car at home.

BTW.. i have flowmaster 40's on my car and they sound great. Captures the classic muscle car sound without being obscenely loud

I have Pypes brand o/r x-pipe and Pypes brand catback with race flow mufflers. It is raspy, but it sounds mean as hell.
