Noooooooooooooooooooooooo

My clutch just went out in my 00 GT... right now whenever the car is running you hear a horrible sound coming from the clutch... and when you push the clutch in you hear a mix of a LOUD squeaky/ gritty grinding type of noise... and theres like, half as much pressure when you push in the clutch... I'm going to buy a king cobra clutch kit on ebay or something. Or I might buy it all together with install from whichever shop I take it too..

My main question is, how much will the install be? For a full clutch kit, pressure plate, t/o bearing, pilot bearing, and whatever else needed... whats a good estimate???

I just pray that its just my clutch that went out, and nothing else... What usually happens when your clutch goes out, or is like, 99% almost out

Well my clutch is making this LOUD ... I mean LOUD squeaky/ grinding sound, not like a gear grind, but like, metal on metal grind, and its No where as easy to get in girl, clutch pressure is way lower (petal tension) When you get above 25k rpms you hear it even when the clutch is disengaged...
And you can deffinently feel a metal on metal contact when you push the clutch petal in...

So.... thats why Im almost positive that my clutch went out... Agree?

yeah the easy pedal feel and noises you're hearing sound like when my retainer broke from the bellhousing. did you drive around a long time with a to bearing chirp?

replacing the retainer isn't really that bad I don't guess. just gotta unbolt the bellhousing from the trans and keep track of all the shims/races that may fall out when doing so. then pop out the broken one and insert the new one.

but hopefully you just have a fubar'd to bearing. keep us updated...
