I just rebuilt my rear end over winter, I put a 4.10, w/ Cobra diff, and 31 spline axles, all new urethane bushings, new bearings

Yes, I cannot wait to enjoy them.
![]() You know it, sister! ![]() Nice. Although I served my apprenticeship, it was may years ago, and I wouldn't even begin to attempt setting up my own ring & pinion. Not having the proper tools to set up preload & backlash and all that, and not having a garage doesn't help either. lol

You will have the same problem on the street with drag radial, especially Nittos. My stock old tired 89 5 liter incenerates drag radials on the street. The street and track are two different surfaces. The street has pavement oils, contaminents (oil, anti freeze, fuel, etc), sealants, dust, dirt, moisture and most importantly no traction compound. A race track (one that is prepped anyway) has VHT or Track Bite sprayed on the surface usually to the 1/8 mile and at big events it will be sprayed all the way to the end of the track. On a prepped track it is very difficult to walk on the surface because your shoes stick to the track like glue. On the street all tires spin, even slicks. Slicks and ET Streets hook a little better than other tires on the street but they still spin alot. Hooking on the street takes practice and skill more than it takes a good tire.

I'm not saying that I am a great driver, but I'm a very careful driver. I don't drive fast, I don't drive recklessly either. I have infact logged on over 370k mi in just 8 yrs of driving. I have driven everything just about anykind of vehicle, from 200K lbs loads, to loads of 14' wide, and 105' long. I have driven $150k cars, as well as operated heavy equipment from the age of 12 on up. I have done this all while losing my getting in one accident , and never once getting a speeding ticket. I think that I can manage driving a mustang on the street.
