My car had an audible knock a few months back, it started with a clicking and then a knock. As time went by it got louder. When I checked, one of my spark plugs poped out. I took it to a friend of mine and the thread on the head was so damaged that we had to do a helly coil i think its called. The car stopped doing the noise and then it started again. The spark had come loose again. This time we couldnt get it out. We ran the car like that and then it started to smoke. I had to take the heads off and one of the valve seals had failed. There was even oil in the spark hole. So thats were I am now. Heads are getting ported and fixed.

I also had a knocking sound when my timming chain had to be changed, but no smoke.
