Engine help, whats the cheaper route?

Would it be cheaper (and/or better) to buy a VT crate engine or upgrade all the internals from my stock engine?

A good VT 4.6 Longblock is going to run around $7300 or so...(Shortblock/Stage2 Heads/Stage 2 Cams and all)

If you can find a local speed shop then you can prolly get a higher hp motor for cheaper if you have them build it...And you would save on shipping...

VT seems to be on quite the longer back order right now...And I am sorta not to happy with them at the momment...

Either way it is going to depend on what you are going to want to do with the car...

IMHO if you have the cash and can wait go with VT...If you can find a local speed shop that has a good reputation for building monsters I would go for them...

I'm planning to go basically all out with a stage 3 twin turbo, so im obviously gunna need to upgrade but i dunno if i should just pull the engine out over winter and buy parts here and there to upgrade or what.
