pretty much any bigger auto parts store should have your sandpaper and sanding block and all the buffing compound you will need.

are you asking to try it with your $12 buffer? I would say no if your going to wet sand because if you cant get your speed high enough your not going to melt your clear coat and its just gonna leave a sanded mess for you...as far as just givin her a shine go for it if it doesnt spin fast enough atleast your not gonna burn through your clear coat

Well then I should be alright. I'm too scared to try a wet sand yet and wouldn't bother until I had some practice on an old hood I have lying around.

Yes that is a very good idea! I thought of mentioning that but I didnt know how many people had hoods lying around, plus from the pic of your car it looks pretty damn good so I wouldnt wet sand

Yeah that's def a lot of work. Thanks sstang the only real problem is that my aluminum rims are corroding. I am considering painting them or something...but yeah I can't wait to see the difference after some hardcore detailing.

Wet sanding is pretty easy, just practice some first. Makes touchup paint blend in almost perfect. Keep very light pressure and use a sanding block. Follow up with a variable speed rotary, then a porter cable, and viola!

I have been out of the detailing scene for a little while, but I still use poorboys and optimum polishes. Wax is poorboys or pinnacle.

Wetsand the rims and polish up with a dremel or airtool. Much easier then wetsanding paint. They will look brand new

Oh I'm definitely doing that on the rims. I am dying to show the car this summer but the wheels have to be attended to first. I'll be reading up on wet sanding.
