oil pressure and water temp gauge install question

Is it okay to leave the stock oil pressure sender off when installing an autometer one? What about the stock water temp sender? I'm guessing yes on the oil and no on the water?

No the stock ones send signals to the ECU and with them off it will throw a code for bad oil pressure or bad oil pressure sender.

So I have to somehow hook up 2 pressure senders and the oil pressure feed line all in that tiny space?

As long as the ECU gets the signal it needs. You can use the autometer one and tie the ecu signal wire in probably or use the stock one and tie the autometer wire in. For the coolant temp one are you going off the stock location or the screw in plug on the the drivers side of the block?

Is it safe to drive to the hardware store since I only put the Autometer one on?

I didn't know there was a screw plug. Which one should I use?

Yea. It should take a few driving cycles before it starts giving you trouble.

How do I know the sensors dont put out different signals and the computer might think the pressure is really high or something?

It's on the drivers side of the block, you will have to get under the car. Its a 16mm screw in plug, it will be just under the bottom freeze plug. Do you have an adapter in you gauge package? If not you will have to get one to use the plug.

Is there not another plug in the oil filter housing to put the autometer one in?
