What mods are needed to get the maximum amount of hp to the ground? How do you increase torque on a car?

suspension is where its at dude....
control arms, subframe connectors, adjustable shocks/struts are a great start... coil over set-up with drag springs, tubular parts to help weight transfer

TQ is derived from cylinder pressure. You can get cylinder pressure by making your combustion area smaller, forcing more air into the cylinders (supercharger, turbo, heads, cams, etc.), or by making your combustion more volatile (increased timing, nitrous).

Generally speaking, timing can be raised without issue from stock parameters. You have to remember that your car has a very soft tune from the factory to avoid excessive warranty claims and due to varied fuel supply from customer to customer.

And with a head and cam setup, how much can timing be adjusted?
