throttle body

70mm or 75mm? i searched on the forum and didnt want to bring back a dead thread. But from the search i gathered that the 70 will give me better velocity for my car. Now as far as better velocity, what does that entail? Quicker response, more HP or something else?

And i most likely wont be able to go f/i (even though i want to).

Unless you have heads and cams or any modification requiring more air, a 75mm throttle body wont work for you. A 70 on the other hand will give you better throttle response and a little more HP. If you want one Im selling my BBK 70mm like new. Let me know

+1. Mike Murillo told me the same thing when I ran by his shop last August, and I think I'd listen to a guy like him.

Theres plenty of debate over the effectiveness of a 75mm throttle body, with only bolts ons id agree theres no need for a 75mm, but I dont think it will hurt ur performance.

At WOT a 70mm throttle body will cause the MAP to drop.... That basically means it's sufficient...A 75mm throttle body is overkill on a stock engine...The amount of air flowing into the stock intake and cylinder heads wont see any serious improvement between the 70 and 75mm throttle body...Therefore, the larger 75mm tb causes a slight loss in throttle response and the small increase in airflow will cause a small loss in torque...probabaly not noticeable, but the 75mm is not necessary... I have ported heads and cams, and full bolt-ons and my builder still reccommended a 70mm for my setup... Bigger isn't always better...You want a combination where each part compliments the other and they work together...Even airflow and response..
