wow 145,000 miles huh? i think that you should start out with gears and a tuner...then go to a cold air kit...ur gonna want 4.10 gears or 4.30's with the auto. and some good drags

you shoulda got long tubes with your exhaust..

id say get the SCT XCAL2 then gears, so you can use the SCT XCAL to tune the gears
cold air intake is pretty useless unless your looking for 5hp...and K&N $40 filter is fine.
with long tubes you'll get some decent hp gains as for bolt ons.
Cams is a good idea also

hp is hp whether its 5 or 50...think of it this way..you'll have 5 more hp than a guy without one...and the filter wont do anything as long as its still in the stock air box with that little ass tube it sux air from behind the lite with.

I've always been a fan of a 100 shot!
Gears, CAI and exhuast are a decent start though.

How much will the 4.10's effect my gas and top speed compared to 3.73's? and do you think the nitrouse might hurt something since it has all these miles? :award

with 3.73s i get anywhere from 17.5-19.5 miles around town and about 24 on the highway. not sure what 4.10s wqill do,..i think the rpms are about 200 higher with them. if you get a good tune with the nitrous then you should be ok. but with the miles that high a rebuild might be in your future either way.

the gears arent going to affect it but maybe 2-3 mpg if you keep your driving habits the same. top speed will change a little but how often do you go flat out? i hope never unless your on a track. nitrous if set up properly, and tuned will not hurt anything. and youll wax his wrx ass all over the place

Why are you telling this person to go for the 100 shot remember 145,000 miles. You can tell there is not $ to burn when he is conserned about MPG. And after some n2o hits that 4.6 this kid will be out of a ride for a long time

The main reason im questioning gas mileage is i like to go up to modesto which is 100 miles away so im basically askin if it will destroy me on the freeway and any specific nitrouse kit compony i should look at, and how hard is it to hook up (i'm used to basic mechanic shit on old cars so im not real up to date on fuel injection and over head cams

Nitrous kits are a pretty straight forward set up. the hardest part for me so far has been deciding where to run the wires for the switches through the firewall. other than that there's nothing to it. Try out the cold fusion kit that crazylegs sells here on the board. Look him up in the vendors section.

well you dont use nitrous all the time...only when you need it...go with a 75 shot and if nothing goes wrong try the 100. as long as ur car has been taked care of it'll be fine...go with a 3.73 if you drive on the highway all the time cuz on the highway your mileage might suffer..i've got 4.10 gears and it doesnt hurt so much but then again i havent gone on a long trip in it either.

I Have 4.10 gears (5 spd man trans) and at 80mph (Florida) on the highway I'm running right around 3 grand on the tach. It guzzles the petro man.
I have a full upper intake and a 100 shot (107,000 mi) I consistantly run right around 13.1 all motor and 12.4 on the bottle. Can't really get the tires to hook up on the juice, got a set of Mickey Thompsons on order. Hope to run 12 flat.
Very few mods other than that, x-pipe, short throw, nothing major.

what are you talking about!? with a safe tune and if his engine gets its regular rutine check up it'll be fine...

even if the engine should blow the nitrous will still be good.

Go with the 4:10's since you have an auto... get the CAI... get an SCT XCAL2 or Predator, get it tuned and go!
