big bore 5.0 shortblock w/ stage 3 heads and cams, lt headers, o/r h-pipe, straight through mufflers, dumps, sheetmetal intake, big throttle body, mig maf, etc......That's top end for ya...

yea ls1's do scream on the top end... 400whp+ easy with just cam/heads/headers.... i have one.
but yea one big ol' honkin turbo (76mm, 14-16# or so) will net you a screaming top end.... or punch it out, cobra crank, rods, 11.0:1, p/p, big cams, lt's, 4.10's or big stall.. eat ls1. Last edited by qwik48r : April 15th, 2008 at 05:06 PM. |

fact is the ls1 just makes more power and responds a lot better to mods than 2 valve mustangs. so the best bet to keep up with an ls1 car is gonna have to be boost.
but if you can catch an ls1 that's completely stock and you've got 4.10s, exhaust, and some intake mods, then it would be a good run.

Mid pipe (and headers if you got the $) will free you some good ponys in the top end..and a tune and i think your off to a good start.
