i wish i got in sooner
Like I said .. I just sold my 00 .. but it was far from stock .. never took it to the track .. but with stage 2 heads and cams and 4lb lower pulley some other supporting mods etc it layed down 480 to the tires .. and 500 tq .. it would run from a roll with the blower .. but from a dig .. even with full length traction bars .. I could put the truck a bit sideways at 60 mph .. the thing needs pretty much full slicks at least Dr's.. even stockers run close to 14's most of the time .. just from spending time on the lightning forums .. they are heavy and stock they just aren't that impressive .. for a truck yes . in the overall game .. no ...

Show some respect bro! no need for name callin' it's all good dude that's why it's a forum, Take a prozac and Chill. I Owned a lightning and a I have a GT now and had one then, I'm Telling you without a doubt, I have handed GT, Z-28's, and others thier be--hinds especially from a roll. Have you ever raced one? Have you ever seen one? other than it's tail lights.. I thought not. They are fairly common here in the detroit metro area, and I have never seen one stock for very long! The Kids sayin' stock but is that just on sight? It could be pullied, tuned, who knows? but the fact of the matter is even a mustang with those mild mods and your GIANT ego still wont change the fact that you will lose.

im gonna guess a termie with exhuast can get better then low 13s so yea you should be able to take him with that but thats sorta like sayin "well i can beat you with my moms car" isnt it
i mean theres always gonna be a faster car out there so racing with one thats not even yours and winning isnt really proving anyhting

since u have it listed as you ran a 14.7 stock.....ur probably good for a high 13 now.... as long as the kid doesnt have a problem finding the gas pedal you should lose....just take your brothers car... u can probably even miss a gear and still beat him in that.

vs. u ... he'd win .. cobra vs. a completely stock lightning .. cobra win .. if that guy is pullied and and tuned ... and he can get traction .. the lightings tq can easily pull him out of the hole on the track .. but the cobra having a 6 speed will rape him in the top end and on the street ... I raced a stock 03 cobra from a 3rd gear roll in my gt yesterday ( thats what gear I was in on the interstate ... about 70 mph ... ) and ran it by a few cars .. til I hit 100 and backed out .. I have a vortech blower putting about 388 to the rear wheels .. so I mean its all relative .. depends on mods driver etc .. but the lightings modded are nothing to scoff out .. but stock .. they really aren't anything to worry about if you can drive and have some gear in that gt

Yep and with bolt on manual GT with street tires the lighting will hook and go (and yes I have driven one, I use to work on em all the time at OSU) and the gt will get loads of wheel spin. |
