a boy at school just got a 2001 lightning it is all stock. do you thing I could bet him in my 2002 mustang gt with the mods in my signature

if he has stock tires and suspension .. probably.. I just sold a lightning that had stage 2 heads and cams .. built .. ported blower and pulley ... etc .. built trans .. put 480 to the wheels and 500 tq .. couldn't hook up to save its life .. I mean I could ride it out and smoke stuff on the interstate .. but I raced my brothers pretty much stock gt from a dig and only ran it by two cars b/c I couldn't hook up 1st or 2nd and the early part of 3rd would spin ..

and on top of the fact hes got a bigger motor, its blown, so that just makes it even better (worse in ur case)

If he has good rubber on that truck, He will tear you a new one... if it's from a roll he will tear you a new one... from a dig you will get him off the line, but he's gonna catch you fairly quick! I just totaled a lightning (#1763) in november, had a deer come through my winshield

and I can tell you especially from a roll I could tear up many a car! I loved that truck! Good luck !

When my Supra TT was close to stock and just some slight mods ,I raced one that was modded he didnt beat me but sucker kept up with me well .I was surprised as hell and never underestimated them anymore.

ill trade my mustang in for a lightning any day .
