My Engine life

My car has 62,000 miles on it. I know our motors can handle a lot of miles but im just wondering when the power will start to fade due to Wear and tear? I would like to have my car for a very long time till it dies or it still looks like a beauty. But i just don't want to put a bunch of money into it and then a couple thousand miles later the engine is starting to go. I am not the original owner so i have no idea how the previous owners took care of her but i know i take care of her. So what can i do to see how the motor is doing? Is a compression test a good start?

yes a compression test, but you really never know when i motor will go. Whats more than likely going to happen is your gonna spin a rod bearing. Just don't know when that time will come, do the basic routine maint on the car and hope for the best. If your motor runs fine now don't worry about anything, i doubt your gonna have any problems anytime soon. Enjoy your car instead of being mr worry worryington lol

haha yeah im a worrier. Well thats good to know then. my engine seems to be running in top condition. No problems. ill probably run a compression test then just to know how its doing.

So whats considered a good compression reading, bad number/good number?
