Max safe rpm for highway cruising?

At what rpm does cruising become dangerous. For example is it okay on the motor to drive at 4000 rpm for an hour?

are you staying in 4th gear or somethin? I dont see gears in your sig...

how fast are you cruisin at dude lol? 5th at 4000 would be in the 100s mph prolly around 120 or so...

I wouldnt do it personally. SOunds like a alot of stress on the motor and it also horrible on gas...

Probably not dangerous as long as it's not longer then an hour and your car's in good shape. But like Paul said, you would waste a lot of gas for no reason. Maybe I'm just the curious type, but why exactly would you wanna cruise at 4K?

its fine if you want to reduce the life of your engine. Figure someone with those mods would know a little bit about cars.

hes probably talking about riding in 4th gear between 60-100mph (and taking it up to 130ish where it ends) when racing someone because 5th is pretty much useless for racing with the stock gearing

I'm getting 3.73s put in right now and im just thinking because I used to be at almost 2500 rpm cruising before gears so I was just wondering what's safe.

well if im not mistkaen the speed limit on an interstate is 65 right? do the speed limit, save gas.

drop in 5th not 4th and save gas. youll see well over 300 miles to a tank by keeping it around 65 mph instead of 80
