Anyone here install there on Gears

I want to do itmyself but I'm not sure what are the needed tools.. I saw some guides but they seem to list stuff you can do the install without. Anyone have a cheap man's list of tools needed to do a gear install on a 01GT. I already have the Ford Racing 4.10 Gears and bearing kit.

Man, there are about a hundred people who are going to say this, so I'll go ahead and be the first. If you don't know how to install gears or have never done it before, take it to someone who has- you'll save your wallet and ride in the end. There are plenty of little steps along the way that you can miss and only a trained technician with prior experience is recommended. Not saying you can't do it yourself, but if you're asking what all tools you need, then I suggest leaving it to someone with some experience. Good luck!

It just looks so easy

I know I can do it, I've done harder stuff, its just the tools are so expensive when u have buy so many that you will only use them for that job. All the tools I needed added to around $160...I don't mind paying someone else to do it but I rather do it myself just because its more fun.

How about this, does anyone have a good tool site to buy them cheap.

Cheapest i found was EBAY:

Jaw Puller $30
Bearing Seperator $18
Beam Style Torque Wrench, around $17
Clicker Style Torque Wrench $33
Dial Indicator with Magnetic Base, around $27
Precision Dial Caliper, around $20
Dead Blow Hammers $15

your gonna need more than that to check the backlash, just take it somewhere and get them done. Cause thats all we need is someone posting up a storm in a month saying what is this noise coming from my rearend. the one tool you really needs cost about 200 bucks itself to do the gears correctly, hint i said correctly.

it's way more involved than you think just like the guys already said. Pay someone. It will be quicker too, and you can enjoy them!
