^ it prevents the paint on your hood from peeling.

the dyno liner was included in the price of paint for the hood so I don't know because I had it all sprayed at once.

+1, The heat from your motor can affect the paint on your hood.

call it all you would like that is what is was designed for.

that doesn't mean that you can't run clean without one and have no paint issues.
call it prevention at best.

It is for noise and fire suppression ONLY.

I wouldn't.

the liner weighs less than 3 pounds and would not affect you performance wise.

I have always been told its for fire suppression. meaning when the flames hit it. the stuff falls off and maybe has something in it to put out a fire..

i just discovered recently that my jlt intake is rubbing mine actually. and its down as far as i can get it. i should have got c&l

Hood liner

If you're still looking for a hood liner that is SUPERIOR to the factory liner, I can help. I make them out of aircraft bulkhead/firewall material and they don't soak up any oil or liquids, and won't deteriorate like the stock one. Mine are also way less expensive.

I can provide for the 1987 to 1998 Mustangs, as well as the 1995 to 1998 Cobras. I could use templates for the 1999 to the present Mustangs. I'd like to help anyone out!

Thanks,

Gonzo
