Question

Trick Flow Plenum, will I shave ET?

Well, I reluctantly ordered a Trick Flow Plenum (had planned on getting one of the new Edelbrock intakes) for my 04 PI longblock swapped 97 GT. Now I'm wondering how much hp/tq I will gain and if I'll shave any ET?

Anyone recall picking up any mph or shaving ET with this plenum?

I'll be at the track testing it out as soon as I get it via UPS and install it.

My past best was 8.74 in the 1/8 and 13.56 in the 1/4 on street tires. I'd love to shave another 10th or two, but I doubt this small change will do it.

i'd say you would be extremely lucky to shave a tenth with the plenum man

If I don't, then its a waste of money and will be up for sale. LOL

I don't care as much about dyno #'s as I do shaved ET.

You should have gotten it when you got your 75mm throttle body

the plenum is more of a supporting mod, as other upgrades allow more airflow the plenum will become more restrictive, so an upgrade will show greater gains as ur power goes up.

As for the intake manifold is this whats in our 99-04 mustang gts?

Shop 1A AutoŽ for 1999-04 Ford Mustang GT SOHC 4.6L 280ci Intake Manifold for your Ford Mustang

I was wondering is that the same as in my 2000 mustang gt? or is it slighty upgraded from the stock PI?

it's the same thing. the aluminum crossover came on the newer mustangs.. it doesn't add any HP. it just makes them a little stronger.

Yeah true but he already has his supporting mods, so unless hes getting a supercharger he is not going to get that 4hp + 4hp and so on.

I've had that TB on since like 1998 and no plenums were out back then that I know of.

+1 with the small gain. I mainly got my plenum just because it kinda matches the TB and I kinda dig the coating on it- not for impressive #s. JohnC, nice ride- I'm not too big a fan of the purple Stangs, but yours looks clean. Nice numbers, too!

Well, FedEx changed the delivery date to the 3rd and my local track is rained out anyway, so I won't have any feedback on this plenum until next Friday night.

I will post new track #'s for the 1/8 as soon as I can Friday night (05/09). You can trust if there is any improvement, that it will show up because I'm consistent as a bracket racer. I can cut 2.04 60ft's and run 8.7's all night on street tires.
