I would check with your cam manufacturer and see what they reccommend . I personally rec springs in any car with over 50k on the clock and over 30k if its a 5 speed car as they spend more time in the higher rpm range than an auto car . The guy to talk to about cams specifically on this board is acmiller he knows quite a bit and will probably give you the best advice. Chris

wow, thats all i got to say is wow. when it comes to putting cams in you should call the manufacture of them and ask them. No meth for nitrous there buddy, use what is meant to be used, fuel. what does the 75mm throttle bodie have to do with anything, you can put one on anytime you want. its a damn throttle bodie not something that is going to hurt your heads or springs

With the Cushman Motosports (VT)stage 1's they say you can run stock springs but the stage 2's you cant depends on how crazy you wanna get

uh we have a V6 section you should try there first. And i don't know why you want to put a turbo on a stock v6. but us v8 guys don't really get too much into the 6'ers so i doubt anyone in here would know where you can get a turbo kit for it. And for psi wise about 10psi will be about it. So spending 5-6k on a turbo kit for your car and you will probrably make what the stock v-8's make

I'll attempt to address the stock spring question. First, let's realize that the stock springs were designed to be used at a relatively low RPM redline- forget all the lift/duration BS for right now. An aftermarket cam(s) has a primary function of extending RPM range and building better HP numbers. Understand that large HP gains will not, generally speaking, be seen if RPM limit is not raised. So, to answer your question, using the cheap stock valve springs in an engine with extended RPM limits is not a good idea. If I had to pick one part in the modular motors that needs to be upgraded, it would be the valve springs. Even if you run a low lift, running over 6000 RPM's on stock springs will eventually cause valve float. I'm sure that VT, Comp, and other manufacturers will say they have a cam designed fo rstock spring use. However, you have to realize that they only stand to make more profit when you tear your shit up.
