Using my XCAL3
I just got my xcal 3. I havent put my supercharger and IC kit on yet but my check engine light is on right now due to my cats being removed. Can I still go ahead and use this thing on the car to turn that code off and at least give it one of those tunes it comes with? I plan on putting the SC on in like a month or less. Are these thing dummy proof?

yeah can i use it as if i was never going to put a SC on it. Use the can tune and turn the check engine light off? when i put my SC on it will go get it Dyno tuned and save it to the xcal right? this is my 1st tuner EVER. i wish i could use it on my car and my f150 that needs to have the speedometer changed for the 36" tires. oh well. But i can just put the canned tune on it and turn that code off right? They hard to use? im half scared to take it out the packaging. haha.

it's very simple to use man.. and yes you can use the canned tune on it.
just plug it into your obd2 port, pull the fan fuse and fuel pump fuse then click about 4 buttons. it's childsplay

Gas is only three thousand dollars a pint... better stick with the 87 as long as i can... the SC will change that before too long. Aight bro... will it tell me how to eliminate those o2 sensors from throwing the code all the time?

sure will if you bought the tuner that can change parameters.
fyi you won't see much of a gain with the 87 tune.. honestly.. I use the 93 .. I did the math and if you drive 15k a year you would only be spending an extra $75.00 per year on gas.

Are you sure? only 75 bucks? im not really looking for power gains. I had to have it for the SC and all. I want to use it now at least for the check engine light to go off. What do you think of how gt's sound without cats?

well think about it.. premium is only $15-20 cents per gallon extra. it's an extra $3.00 per fill up. that's not much when you add it up. a GT sounds good with an off road pipe but will sound like ass with gutted cats

they are in your fuse box under the hood of your car.

it would be in your menu if you had the option to do it (depends on the tuner you bought)
