Same gas nozzle


Would using the same gas nozzle that someone just filled up with 87 octane effect the octane if i fill up with 93 right after?

lol that is a very random question... and no... because it cuts the gas off before you stop pumping.. so it drains all of the gas before you start pumping your 93. and even if it didnt. it wouldnt be enough to worry about

Nothing's drained from the selection valve to the nozzle--if it were you'd get a burst of air (or gas vapour) when the pump starts and valve opens (note: at a large station the 93 octane pump may be already running if someone else is dispensing 93).

Thing is that there's probably less than a pint of the other grade in the piping and hose ("back of a napkin" math here, 1/2" ID hose/piping X 12 ft--probably too high) so it really doesn't matter.
