Header problems
I just got done putting my car all back together and when i fired it up it has an exhaust leak on the drive side and from what i can tell towards the back of the header. When i put the top bolt in on that side it started ok and was goin just fine but it will not tighten up. I thought i had it fairly tight so it wouldnt leak but apparently not. Any ideas or suggestions?

um, did you crossthread it. always run you bolts through before you try crancking on them, and why did you leave it not totally torqued in? you said you tightened it as best you could but it wouldnt go all the way, what made you think that it was going to work?

+1 like a billion.... you should NEVER force a bolt. they should always go in failry easy... in a way, but whenever you feel resistance yuo should always see wtf is going on... btw it wouldnt go all the way??? thats your first clue that the bolts not threading rigt and that your gonna have to take the head of and bring that bitch to the machine shop to get it tapped or what not ps im mildy inehbriated rite now ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Whenever I did mine, I had a bolt that took forever to tighten up. I started to think it was stripped, but it wasn't. Maybe you didn't quite tighten far enough. If that's not it, then its probably stripped.
