Just a thought here: have you ever wondered why motorhome manufacturers stopped using the powerstroke diesel engines and mainly use the ford 6.8 V10 in motorhomes now? The V10 is the same as all of the other mod motors and is ultra reliable. It will cost a lot of money but if you're willing to invest the time and the money to do it I think you will have one hell of a monster on your hands. Anyone can bolt on a turbo or a s/c, it takes one hell of a person to try what everyone else says can't be done. It can be done, hope you try it. Holler if you're close to Ga. |

Holy Balls... I think there might be light at the end of this tunnel. Dad just got a job in South Carolina (but he's in Texas, WTF?) so his RV bay garage with a commercial grade 10 ton lift is now AVAILABLE... Not to mention he befriended a Canadian immigrant who should have been born in America because he loves guns and FORDS just as much as any real man from here. Looks like I might be able to post some photos of me actually making progress soon.
Oh, and I know the thread's old but believe me, it's not as old as it FEELS. Every time I walk by my mustang in the driveway I ask myself, "why, oh why, didn't I just replace it with another 4.6?" Fortunately I'm not kicking myself in the ass as much as I used to. I just can't wait till it's actually done. |

Not so much "dogging" just giving advice. It may be stern advice but how else do you talk someone out of wasting money. Simple fact is that no one does this swap, know why? There are no advantages to be had that can't be had with something more simple, lighter and less costly. Just saying.

If you dare to be different and do the swap go for it but don't bother asking the millions who think you are wasting your time/money how to do it.
