Eaton Posi Diff. Noise

In the last few months I began to notice that when I make tight turns, right or left, I hear a noise like something is rubbing and it is definitely coming from the rear end. It also sometimes sounds like a clapping sound and you can feel a vibration. I have checked clearance and there is no rubbing on exhaust or anything that I can see. About a year ago I had to get the rear end rebuilt so I got the Eaton Posi dif with 3.73 gears put in. I have heard that the posi rears can make some noise because of the outside wheel spinning faster than the inside, but I just dont know how loud and what that is supposed to feel like. If anyone could tell me if this is normal or what I would appreciate it. Thanks

its only a year old, never been to the track, the car only has exhaust and an intake and does not get beaten on...could it really be going bad? Have you never heard of the rear end doing that before?

i talked to the guy who installed it and he said that if it wasnt aligned correctly it would have shown up a lot earlier and it would probably be making a whine sound

Not a vibration, I slight noise while turning is normal, but a vibration is what worries me.

one guy i talked to compared it to like a 4 wheel drive truck. Like the car having like a hopping feeling when turning. Sometimes it feels exactly like that and other times im not so sure. When you say a slight noise, what do u mean, like what would u expect it to sound like?

One of my old trucks had a a detroit locker rear and true trac upfront. the rear would make a clicking noise while turning, sometime a slight whine while in sharp 90 degree turns. I also had 40" mud tires so it didn't help much.

to test a cone type posi: drive with one wheel on the grass, one on the pavement. spin the tires... you WILL know if its a shot differential.. Eaton is a STRONNNNNG unit. i run a 8.5" 10 bolt in my cheby. still verrrryy quiet.

yeah i've got the stock lsd and when i take tight turns to the left they both lock up when i floor it. but when i turn to the right and floor it, the inside tire spins. it drives me nuts. so i'm gonna re build mine soon for 31 spline and 3.90's
