These 4.6L modulars are complete turds to be honost. If you want actual power from boltons, P&P you heads. Thats the problem with our cars, the heads dont flow worth dick!

complete full bolt on should get you in the 260rwhp range, add cams and your hittin the 300rwhp mark. Honestly just save for the blower, you'llmake 360-400+rwhp on 8-10lbs. Theres a guy on modfords with a stock bottom end running stock heads, vt stage 3 blower cams, and a vortech s making 472rwhp, not bad for a 2v

People have made 600 hp with stock heads and intake. I but can't seem to find the vid now. It was a novi 2000 at 18psi and cams. Its on youtube some where

Chris kauffman has been making 531 rwhp for years

He has a stock bottom end, stock heads, HP S292 cams, full exhaust, bullit intake and a V2 s-trim with a Procharger IC. I remember a guy hitting 600 on a stock bottom and turbo set up with heads and cams over at Mod depot a couple years back. It lasted about 3 months lol. I also don't think Chris is going out and pounding his everyday either.

I make 515 with stock heads, intake, and valve springs with a strim. I'm thinking about changing heads but I'm not sure if I will yet.

i would save up for a blower ,I could save the money but my stang has 113k,thats to many miles even with low boost right??????I wish i would have gotten a stang with lower miles but i got this one because it looks unique, because stangs come dime a dozen, its just very very very sad for me to go from a lt1 that would beat ls1's to a slow stang, that everone says mods like shit ,,,,,,,,,sad 2v's suck

SOHC engines don't suck, you just need a little money and patience.

There's been 900+ 2v's with twin screw setups. The thing is when you get to that point most people just go 4v. If I ever won the lottery I would take one as far as possible just for shits and giggles.

I'm making 265-270 with my current mods and a killer dyno tune.

everysingle LT1 i've ever raced i completely rape though.... so dont worry, with minor mods, you'll be taking on bolt on LT1's.

just run it at 6psi until you can afford a forged bottom end. That's not really Too expensive... it is in a sense, but its affordable if you want power.

Once you get new rods and pistons, ur shortblock is basically new, minus the crank which never goes out (only with insane amounts of miles or 600+rwhp). Get some forged internals and put her at 12psi, you'll make about 450rwhp with that

ya the Modular motors are the way to be! no pushrod. THe overhead Cam is way better. This are not dogs at all. Easily modded and cheap. Lt1 motors got nothing. And the 75mm t.b my not be the best. Idk if you have enough air intake mods to really make the 75mm effective. but hey never know.

They run fine for a low compression, low reving, 2v na 4.6l running low test from the factory. They have tons of room to grow. They also have a nice aftermarket and are priced right. You can pick a 99+ up all day long for 5k.
