Stock rods and pistons are crap on our cars...$4k for a supercharger or $4k for a built bottom end...i lean towards a built bottom end now. Not saying a supercharger won't work for you, just one of those you gotta pay to play.

I run shorty BBK headers and they seem to work well. See my mods and timeslips.

6500 is where the rods start bending if you do it consitantly. Meaning you can rev to 7000 but it wont last as long as if you were just to rev to 6500.

are there any differences on how much boost you can run between poweradders? like KB, vortech, procharger....etc. kuz the kb is like 5-6k if you get it intercooled, and the vortech is like what 2-3 i think? i cant remember. but the vortech or procharger would still give you that power..... maybe?

What were they thinking? Ford should have known that everyone was going to over rev the motor while running 200% of stock horsepower.

Yep exactly...i was joking about those numbers i put up anyways. I wouldnt rev past 6200 on a stock setup. I really dislike the stock internals, they are about garbage....remind me of something the military would buy (cheapest bidder, lol).

It's not about the amount of boost, its about the a/f ratio. If you can safely keep it around 11.5 - 12 then you will be fine.

k, i kind of understand that. i know a little about FI but nothing to that extent. are there any articles or something thats good that i could read up on. i'm also leaning toward a p1sc next year instead of forging everything. i'd think i would be quite happy with 400hp. i just rode in my friend's 700rwhp stang and that thing was effin scary. haha

build it from the ground up...forge it first, you'll be much happier down the road. Once you get the mod bug, you'll always want more....why max out a pretty limited motor when ya can set up something better?

p1sc is a pretty decent entry level blower, works great for its application. d1sc would be a better choice.

the only reason i would just stick with a p1sc and not forging is because in 3-4 years i plan on buying a cobra instead of building a gt.

idk i'm not sure yet, its a ways away from doing this. i'd rather just stick with 400 or so hp and then in 3-4 years go crazy.

Ok so in 3-4 years your current car will be payed off, if it isn't already.

Current car you want 400whp

Cobra puts 390 whp

You already have a shell to do whatever you want with

Cobra means dishing out another 25k

Unless you plan on keeping it bone stock, garage kept, weekend car; not worth the investment with what you already have.

Just because you can slap some bolt ons to it to do more than what a p1sc on your car can do isn't worth the extra cash.

Why not put the money saved into your car? The termi motor is a good setup, still not the best though. Plenty of aftermarket 2v motor combos that will stomp the termi.

And even more reasons...

If your stuck on a termi motor/tranny you can pick one up for 7k...

Or you can start looking into aftermarket 2v/4v setups that will stomp it...look at mmr, dss, shm, karkraft etc...

If your looking at buying some used stuff, there are a few really good deals on the corral right now. One guy is selling a built longblock for around $4k.
