no it was just a 5.4, its not a blower that causes the problems on 5.4's, its the specific lightning 5.4 with its eaton that causes the high problem. a 5.4 fits just fine, its the eaton and the way that its setup that makes it stick over 7 inches higher than the stock hood

i new it was the s/c that did the job and specially if he went for a whipple 2.3-3.4 but lower block a little would bring top of s/c down too. but isnt there a magazine w a crown vic w a s/c sitting out hood? y not do that and put scoop over it lika old style hemi?

I could be wrong about this, but can't you put 4.6 heads on a 5.4, use the 4.6 intake and avoid the hood clearance problem?

5.4 2V heads are the exact same as 4.6 2V heads. The difference is the witdth between the two sets of heads. Its from the nearly inch taller deck. which if you know geometry, think of it as a radius and the longer the radius and the same angle the longer the arch length.

Lightning all badass. all colmon* shift. THe 2001 Corbra motors are nice too something around 320hp and the Terminator is the best over all and they all get pretty shity gas milage. But Honestly the Terminator is the best choice. 390 hp and tq.

4.6 intake requires adapter plates on a 5.4 block because of the taller deck height, the heads are spread further apart and the intake runners won't line up with out the adapters or a full custom intake manifold.

ya now that i think of it a TT DOHC 5.4 would be the most bad ass of the choices, buty also the most expensive. I dont think hood clearance would be much of an issue either
