Clutch time, what else to buy?
Well my throw out bearing is making noise and my clutch fork needs to be greased, so I'm gonna save up some loot and pick up a Spec Stage 1 clutch kit..
Should I get the steeda quadrant and adjustable cable? I heard a few ppl on here having problems with the cable.. also any thing that i should address while i have the tranny dropped? (already doing clutch, tob, greasing fork, changing fluid) thanks guys

I did drive shaft while I was there (motor sport alum).
Did clutch, TOB, cable, and royal purple fluid. Had the fire wall quadrent adjust kit but ditched it for just the old manual/pedal adjust and was much happier. I dont care for spec clutchs but if your mind is made up there then go for. I smoked mine rather easy and went to a Ram HD clutch and couldnt be happier.

ok thanks, i'll just stick with the stock cable and adjuster.. I'm not necessarily certain i'll get a spec clutch.. but i hear good things about 'em and it's a good price

don't get a spec. everybody on here who has a spec will tell you that the TOB is garbage. i have to pull my spec stage 1 back out and send it back because its chattering horribly after over 1k miles its very difficult to drive because of the chatter.

Well would I be better off just getting a new TOB from ford and not messing with the clutch right now? I don't need a clutch I figured I might as well do it while i was under there

ford performance As I said I love mine (Ram Paowergrip HD). Its heavy but nothing over the top. It is just fine with all the power and doesnt bother me in the least in stop and go traffic.

Yeah not a hard decision since i've seen a spec in action
![]() So you have the 2+? I'm thinking that'd be a bit too much clutch for me.. How's the pedal feel?

well for the next few years just mild (comp 262) cams, 3.73's, ported heads, maybe some nawz til I get the procharger...
The only thing i worry about is if my girl drives it I don't want her to have to use two feet lol

i would look into the stage 2 then. no sense in having to trade the clutch out again when you do start making the power that you want.

i got mine from Mustang Parts, Camaro Parts, Corvette Parts, GTO Parts, Trans Am Parts and more. due to AM not having the stage 2+. plus you can get the discount at AM and free shipping.
