X vs. H-pipe???

Ok, I have heard that the x pipe is raspy and the h pipe is deeper. But the x has a better power gain than the h pipe? If this is true why not save a little money and just have the cats removed from the factory h pipe? Would that be the same as buying the pypes h- pipe? Help me out guys Im not a master with the 4.6

the factory mid pipe doesn't breath as well as an aftermarket one.

I couldnt agree more... I have only had the car about a month. I have already put eibach sportlines, magnaflow exhaust and 410 gears, and a steeda tri ax shifter. I love it, I just want it to be deeper and louder.

As HMUSN said, the factory H wont flow as well. Isnt the factory piping 2 1/4??

An O/R H is going to give a more deeper tone while giving a decent torque gain.

An O/R X is going to net you more HP and give it a raspier tone.

Personally i love the sound of a 4.6 rumbling through an X pipe. You can pick up a decent UPR or PYPES O/R X fairly cheap on Ebaymotors.

How do you liket he 4:10's? I've had mine in for about a month or so and i LOVE them. Just need to get a tuner to recalibrate the speedo. I was going to to 3:73 but im REALLY glad i didnt. Next is a shifter, how do you like the Steeda?

I love the gears. I did the shifter and gears the same day and it is the best combo you can do. I couldnt be happier. I just love the deep sound of the h pipe, but really want the power gain too.

I have had both and love my X-pipe and have no plans on ever getting another H-pipe.

Also when you let out of the gas and you get the back pressure pops on the X-pipe. Even after years of having it I still cant get over that sound.....I love it.

I love my X pipe. You can't go wrong either way though, as long as it's not stock.
