Engine Removal Tips

I'm pulling the engine out of my 01 stang and i need some ideas on where and whats bolts to attach my hoist to. The accessaries that need to be taken off are off but i'm not sure if there's something i'm missing that you guys can bring to my attention. the intake manifold bolts are too small to support the engine. Ideas?

I pulled my intake manifold, and used grade 10 bolts one on each corner. it will support it fine.

Welcome to the forums.

Label everything with masking tape & a magic marker if you're not positive about what/where everything will go.

Go slow. If it doesn't come up and out the first pull, just lower it again, and start raising it up again. Double check as it comes up that nothing is still attached.

Go slow.

+10 on going slow, one thing that i had to go back for is one of the ground straps make sure you get all of them. Its been a while since i`ve done it i used to have a link to a great page i`ll post it up when i find it again.

Should be pulling mine out in the next week or 2 as well. Definatly get an extra pair of hands or two to help you watch it come up and keep an eye while you pull it.
