i need help with my H Pipe install
Sorry i need help with this easy mod but im having trouble. I just bought a Mac H pipe and i was planning on installing it on Friday but i didnt have a Jack that was low enough to go under my car. Just my luck. So now im going to install it at work.
But anyway when i opened the box i was very confused on how this pipe goes together. The pipe is in 3 pieces and comes with a little metal peice i have no idea where that piece goes but here are the pictures. Tell me if this is how it hooks up. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Where does this little piece go? ![]() ![]() Im assuming the bubble end goes into the open end so you can pivot them around for the best fitment? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() These have different ends. If im not mistaken the one that is flat(tube on the left) hooks up to the passenger side manifold and the Gasket goes in between. ![]()

The best thing to do is to take off the old H pipe and set them side-by-side. I just installed my X pipe yesterday, and the flat end on the last picture you showed hooks onto the passenger side as you said. Btw, does the driver side one in that same picture move at all? Mine slid around, I'm just curious. Also, I'll see if I can Photoshop that to how it should be installed.
[EDIT] I took two picture of my stock exhaust, but before I upload them, let me tell you how your exhaust goes (according to your numbers.) Looking at the first picture, part #1 is facing the correct way. The shorter tube on part #1 is the passenger's side, and the longer one is the driver's side. Looking at the first picture once again, part #2 and part #3 should be switched around. The little piece has me stumped as well. Btw, lifting the car up high so you can stand under it will make the job ten times easier. Doing it while laying down is horrible, you have almost no room to work with, and it's really cramped. Also, some WD40 should help remove the bolts on the header gaskets.

Ok thanks.
im not sure if the driverside would move around since i havn't taken the old pipe off yet to see what the manifold end looks like on that end. But it kinda looks like it would. The end of the pipe on the driverside almost like Flares open and it seems like a bubble end would fit into it. i dont know if im making any sense at all but im trying haha. yeah a photoshop would be great if you could but you dont have to go out of your way or take up all your time.

I'm talking about part that connects to the driver's side gasket (part #3.) Yeah, I know what you mean by saying it flares open, mine did too. The passenger's side is flat, and the driver's side is kinda like a bowl if you were to look down into it. The setup you have in the first picture is perfect, just switch part #2 and part #3 around, and you're good! Maybe somebody else can chime in with the little piece...
[EDIT] Sorry for the small image sizes, I forgot to change the resolution on my camera phone. ![]()

as far as getting the jack under your car drive it up on a couple pieces of wood. that will give you the little extra clearance to get the jack under it. thats what I do.

Why don't you try putting your exhaust together the way I told you just there on your carpet, but don't screw anything in. If it doesn't size up to the ones I took a picture of, then that little piece MAY just be an extension.

yeah im going to put it together later tonight and make sure i know what im doing for tomorrow. But that little piece can fit inside the tubes so i dont think its an extension.
Jeez if mac would just give some instructions this wouldnt be a problem lol. But yeah im starting to think i dont even need that piece. it seems like it goes inside the tube with the Flared out end though. But i have no idea. Hopefully someone with a mac H Pipe will see this thread.

The little piece goes in the tube that connects to the drivers side manifold. Slide it in the tube of the Mac pipe and you will see what I mean. I just helps seal the connection between the manifold and the mid pipe.
