hey guys...i'm having an argument with myself when it comes to the future of my 02 gt...here's the thing...i'd like to keep it and S/C it...but i'd also like to get my hands on an 03-04 term.....to me the obviouse solution is to just wait another year...save up a couple of g's for a down payment and just get the cobra...but what do ya'll think?

Take some good time and just think about the cobra. Its a COBRA. I have a GT, and everytime I see a cobra on the road no matter what I say to myself "damn I wish I had a cobra". You will have a supercharged 4v motor, (I know the stock superchargers aren't as good as aftermarkets, but you can save for later). I would sell my GT for a cobra anyday. But if it satisfies you to have a sleeper GT then go for it. If you get a cobra you will have a much stronger block though.

its all in what you want. i would like a cobra also but its funny when the little gt will pull up beside a cobra and the look on the cobra drivers face when the gt will keep up or walk away from him. around where i live i beat up on cobras stop light to stop light. thats all driver, better bottom end torque and rear suspension.

def save up the money and get a terminator. have you seen the vids on street fire, they beat eveything!!!!!!! i have a gt too and am thinking about keeping it and getting a cobra eventually. mabye one of those new boss mustangs rumored to be coming out but for now i love my gt.

I wish I had bought a Terminator...But I bought a GT...

So now I am just using what I have...

But I am pretty satisfied with my GT...

I will buy a Cobra one day...

get a terminator. if i knew what i know now about mustangs i would have just saved up and gotten one.by the time i am done with my car just to make it strong enough for that kind of power i could easily have gotten one.

have you driven otehr hgh performance cars before? if so step up and go with the terminator. you start off with a much better base and has a lot more upgradeability

yea but look at joes car... threw in a s/c and w/e other mods he has and he'll eat any stock cobra
underdog cars also have potiential..in this case the GT is the underdog to the cobra as the v6 is to the GT

also if you sell your car next year you might get 12k for it..if your lucky.
ive seen 90kmile 1999 GTs stock going for 7k you'll need at least 8k saved on the side for that 03/04 cobra, that if somone buys it for 12k.

the gt500's arent all they're cracked up to be...i saw a neon with an aftermarket tubro and 22psi smoke a gt500 like 3 or 4 times....illl post the video .

I've been debating the same thing. At this point, I'm gonna wait for them to release the new Mach 1. Granted, this is if they put the same engine as the shelby in it. Then I wouldn't have to worry about ditching the stock supercharger. I haven't heard the specs for the new Mach 1, so I guess I'll have to wait till then to decide for sure.

i dont know if you realise but a turbo swap in a srt-4 neon can get you into the mid 11s so that car wyljdl spank 90% of the cars on this site. the gt500 is a quick car but no matter whqt your ever driving. there is someone out there who is faster. its all about who has the most $$$$$$

i'd expect any CAR with 22psi to dust a gt-500

well i only got 12k sitting in the bank and im still in college so i dont think i can swing a cobra right now. this will be my first performance car so a gt should be good enough for now.

I would go with a supercharger for the gt and have a sleeper. Although the stock pistons can not handle over 450 horsepower for long you probably wont go over that much hp with just a supercharger. Cobras are nice but they are expensive.

one other thing to think about...
yea you can throw in a s/c on a GT, but look at the number from throwing a s/c on a GT and cobra....a KB on a GT vs a cobra is a huge difference

My best friend has maybe 2K in his car and it is a mid-12 second srt-4...On stock turbo...Just bolt-ons...

Next season he is going with a bigger turbo and should see 11's...

DOnt knock the little ecno-boxes...

Look in the November Issue of MMFF...They compare the GT500 and Terminator...
