White smoke??
I have full bolt ons minus throttle body and plenum, and I just recently put a full mac exhaust, long tubes, offroad prochamber, and mac catback on. When I put this on I also added an email tune from bamachips.com. Now my problem, the car runs great, but when I shut the car off there sometimes is white smoke coming out of the exhaust, usually the drivers side? for what ever reason. Also depending on the temperature, today for instance it was 9 degrees celcius outside and I pulled to the side of the road to take a picture of my car and there was a bit of white smoke coming out of the tail pipes? Now does this sound like I'm running lean? or is it just from the offroad prochamber? or what?

Sounds like exhaust gases reacting to the chilly air or maybe just some burnoff from the new exhaust pieces.

well thats what I thought at first but I'd say its been atleast 2 weeks since the exhaust has been put on, I figured it would have burnt off by now.

I agree...hows your coolant level? Sometimes white smoke indicates coolant gettin where its not supposed to...maybe a gasket?

my coolant level is fine, oil level is fine, like the smoke isn't barrelling out of the exhaust pipes, but if im at idle and I go behind the car and look, you can see some exhaust coming out, maybe thats normal. I may tell bamachips to send me another tune that is a little richer then the last one, see how that works.

Typically white smoke is an indication of a head gasket gone.
However cars will show some white smoke on a chilly day until they have warmed up, and on a really cold day will continue to smoke. As everyone said, could be the coating on the new pieces. If a head gasket is blown badly enough, the exhaust will have a sweet coolant smell to it at times. |
