Nitrous - What can a mainly stock 4.6 handle?

Just bought a 300C a few days ago to use as my daily driver and I'm wanting to dump a little more money into the Mustang and use it as a weekend car. However, I don't want to have to do anything that requires rebuilding my engine yet, because I just got a new engine installed a few months ago, and due to financial limitations at the time, went with a used engine instead of rebuilding the blown one.

I've got a 99 GT with a motor with about 50k miles and the only mods I have are P&P Plenum and TB, Exhaust (midpipe, mufflers), SCT Xcal2 tune, and CAI. My question is what kind of nitrous jetting could I safely go with on this engine? I'm assuming I'd need to upgrade my fuel pump, aren't factory pumps only good up to 350 or so horsepower? What else would I need to upgrade? Would I also need to go with colder plugs?

I was always anti nitrous, seemed like cheating to me, but I'm starting to cave in to the idea due to the prices, $500-750 for that much horsepower can't be beat. I'd also be going with 3.73s (I hear 3.73s are better than 4.10s for an automatic if you go with nitrous or a supercharger, is that right?).

Any input?
I'd likely be going with a Zex kit, due to hearing a good bit of things about them.

So 100 shouldn't cause any problem? Also, the fuel pump will need to be upgraded, rigth? Should I go with colder plugs?

Nitrous Express wet kit....100 shot. You'll be happy with that. The 150 shot doesnt give that much of a gain over a 150 shot to warrant the risk of the extra fuel in an intake that like to puddle fuel.

NXStang, would you recommend 4.10s or 3.73s? I see you have 4.10s, which is why I ask.

when i rebuild my rearend this weekend, i am going to put in a set of 4.10 gears and its a manuel.

oh and i picked up 7 mph in the 1/4 mile going from a 100 to a 150 shot, but the key to the puddling problem is to not spray to early. mine doesnt spray till 4000 rpms and shuts off at 6500 rpm

i am spraying 125 right now, mine is set to hit at 3200 and shut off at 6k. i will go to a 150 when i install a pump, and after the mach is done i will go to a 175 or 200 shot. i will also do some head work when i go up in shot, VE will do wonders to make engines survive. i will either blow it or be in for a hell of a ride.

???

uh no, the auto's take full advantage and need the steeper gear. the maunal guys are usually running a 3.73 with a power adder, some 4.10's. and a few with 4.30's.

A 100 shot will work just fine. I have been running a 100 shot from NX Wetkit for a while and never had any problems. I would recommend a good tune and a window switch for it for safety and to receive the full benefits from it. Also as far as gears go I say go with the 4.10's, it really isn't that big of a difference from the 3.73's and will do a lot more for you. Don't fear the gear.
