a BOV and a bypass valve are 2 different things if that's what your asking.

The red thing is a Vortech mini-bypass...

A BOV and Bypass are basically the same thing...I used a BOV on my car for about a year...You just have to recirculate it and set the spring right...

Not understanding this bro...

As long as you recirculate the BOV or BPV back before the supercharger and after the maf then you are fine...They both just release the pressure after you let off the pedal to stop surging...

I thought it had to do something with the whole open loop vs closed loop systems.

Nah the bov/bpv are interchangeable...As long as they recirculate for those of us running pull through set-ups...With blow-through mafs it is even easier...You can vent to the atmosphere when you use a blow through set-up because the air that you discharge is not metered air...With a draw through you have to recirculate it due it being metered already...

Also the Maxflo Race Bypass Valve is alot bigger then the mini-bypass...

And you prolly wont run enough boost to actually use it...Its for higher boost apps...

You can use a BOV or the mini-bypass and will be fine...The stock bosch valve is fine for up to 10#'s...

How are you guys recirculating with the bypass? Mine is routed to my powerpipe but the openings are different sizes so the hose keeps coming off. It's like a 1.75" to 1.25" opening and I can't find any hoses that are that size.

I'm not running one at the moment so I'm doing some research before I buy one.

I have the maxflo bypass. Where does it say it's for higher boost apps?

Maxflow bv57 Bypass ValvesThe new billet aluminum bv57 Bypass Valve flows 1300 CFM@10 PSIG. It features a large rolling diaphragm configuration with –4 AN signal hose connection and dual filtered vents that allow for quick valve response. The valve head attachment method provides valve articulation for perfect sealing to the mechanically retained valve seal.

Maxflow Mondo Bypass ValvesHigh-flow Mondo Valves (550+ CFM@10 PSIG) are recommended for applications creating more than 12 PSIG and are mandatory for any system using a cog drive belt. These units can be adaptable to all types of supercharged and turbocharged installations, mounted at any angle.

Maxflow Racing Bypass and Blow-off Valves
Our Maxflow Racing Bypass/Blow-off Valve flows 320 CFM@8 PSIG and features a compact design that is ideal for imports and others with tight engine compartments. These units will retrofit to standard HKS/Greddy style mounting pads and out performs anything its size.

Standard Bypass ValveSpecifically designed for street applications. Eliminates compressor surge and reduces heat soak in the discharge tube. Recommended for vehicles running 6 to 12 PSIG. Both inlet and outlet mate to a 1" hose.

It says the Mondo is for higher boost, not the Race.

Can you tell me where you got your parts? Is it routed back to the powerpipe? If it is what size hose did you use going to the pipe?

Is the Vortech mini-bypass louder than the stock bosch that comes with the Vortech kits? just wondering... I love that little sound it makes when shifting during high boosts just wish it was louder lol...
