Dyno tune!

Just got the stang back from the dyno. She put down 245rwhp and 288 rwt. Nuthan to brag about but i thought it wasnt bad for a cai, or/x pipe n flowmaster cat back, and sct tune of coarse. Now i gotta go to the track n see what she'll run!!!

Get an aftermarket plenum and 70 mm TB. You will pick up another 3-5 HP peak but more importantly pick up 5 to 10+ HP, maybe more, in the 3000 to 4500 rpm range.

With a Pro Products TB & plenum and basically the same mods as you (I have a catted X, but cats/no cats doesn't make a whole lot of difference), and a tweaked Sniper tune I'm at 252 rwHP/295 torque--with 225 HP/290 torque at 4000 rpm.

If i get the TB ill probably need a retune too huh.. im guessing? So i should get 5-8 rwhp with the TB. Nice!! So the power im putting down is right then i hope as of now. I should be about the same as u with the TB. Kick ass!! What times r u pulling at the drag strip??

You shouldn't need a tune as the MAF will report the additional air to the PCM and the PCM will do what's needed.

The big difference will be seen between 3000 and 4500 rpm where the MAF says there's more air and the PCM says "I hear what your sayin'"...

I am 60++ years old, and my healthy (unhealthy?) dose of arthritis prevents me from doing a lot of things I did when I was younger. I race the FHP mostly now...

[edit]
The TB and plenum will not "force" the engine to take in more air as is often asserted, however it will allow the engine to suck in air with less restriction which results in more air, at lower absolute pressure, making it's way to the combustion chamber--however since the MAF (assuming it's not pegged and it won't be on any n/a setup) will be measuring this additional air the PCM will be well aware of it and adjust fueling/timing/etc. accordingly...
