Whats the difference between 31 spline and 28 spline??

I can't deside what I want to do I've been looking at Buying the things to build my rear end. I'm starting to wonder if going with a 31 spline diff and axles is necessary. My car probaly makes around 270 rwhp. I dont know if I should just buy the gears put them and be done with it or upgrade to 31 spline stuff. If I did upgrade to 31 spline what would I gain from it or am I just wasting my money.

if u have the money to do the full swap, then do it. if u ever go FI, chances are ur gonna break something. I can name a few members who have snapped a rear with mino bolt on's and some spray.

do it once, do it right, and don't look back

Cool on what? This is the first thing I've bought for the car this year. Except for my pro stars. I hope your paying in cold hard cash and not racking up the credit card bills! Thats bad news.

i say go ahead and build it with the slicks. ive seen em break with drag radials and then again ive seen guys do 6000 rpm launches on slicks with them and never have a problem, so its a roll of the dice. i say go ahead do the whole swap
