Overheating
My car seems to keep overheating, i changed out the thermostat already and its still overheating, i think the fans arent coming on anymore is there an easy way to check this besides just getting the car hot and seeing if theyre coming on or not. I had the whole wiring harness off recently but i dont think i forgot to hook anything back up. Its been doing this since i changed out the motor recently but the old one never got hot. I put a stewart components water pump on this one, that cant be the problem though can it? Any ideas?

maybe you have a vapor lock from when you refilled it from changing all your parts and know your coolant isn't circulating

im pretty sure that its circulating, it only overheats driving in town, goin down the highway it will run up to a little over 200 and then it will go back down to 180 or so, in town though it will get up to 240 if i dont pay attention

think 160 will keep you in open loop or close too it. Other people should chime in on it soon.

Sounds like your fan is not going to high when in town. i would check all my wiring one more time and then check the fan.

why get a lower thermostat to band-aid it instead of taking the time to figure out what the actual problem is?? the easiest way to check your fans is next time your driving and its gettin hot just pull over and pop the hood while its still running, if the fan is not spining, then theres your problem... if not, keep looking
