Anybody with an mgw shifter

I've had my mgw shifter for about 8 months, today was the first time I noticed the play in the shifter. Doubt its a big deal but has anyone else experienced some play in the mgw shifter, its more so when its in neutral, and it moves a bit back and forth.

ya, its not really a problem, I'll take the boot off it tomorrow and see if theres something loose, I mean it only back and forth maybe 1/4 inch, maaybe. We'll see tomorrow I guess. I checked to make sure it was clamped tight on the post and it was, I don't know what else could be loose on it.

no, if its in neutral it can move towards third and back towards fourth about 1/4", but when its engaged into a gear it moves back and forth less.

I'll try and take the boot off tomorrow if I have time, like I said, it still shifts perfect, no problems with it at all it just has a little bit of play in it.

Same experience here with my MGW. A little play in neutral after a year, but I think it's the notchy transmission. The shifter itself still feels bulletproof.
