Blow-by!?!

i had a problem with oil getting into my intake manifold..then back into the combustion chamber and burning up and all that..

ok well i figured out somethings wrong with my car......guess heads and cams where drawing a pretty good vacuum...the PCV system was sucking in oil and air thru the valve covers right back into my intake...thats why i was getting a shitload of oil into my intake and cylinders... so i blocked off the CAI spot and spot on the plenum where the PCV system tubes go into and i let the PCV valves just breathe into the air...well it seemed to run better and cleaner...im still getting smoke out the exhaust...

but heres the weird thing now

the pcv valves are BLASTTINGGG out white smoke (they are venting to the air)...really bad on the drivers side...i have no idea what would cause this...maybe just from a shitload of oil getting everywhere and it needs a long time to burn off..bc i got her nice and hot today and it just still kept comming out...

and im still getting a weird tick thats not in the heads/headers/front cover...but u mainly hear it in the intake manifold....used a stethoscope and narrowed it down...

a guy on another forums said to do a compression test and see if your rings are shit causing all the blow by and thats why all that white smoke is flying out of your valve covers...

ANY input at all...anyone run into this...thanks .... i really dont want to be doing a bottom end right now...

the spot on the plenum is not a vacuum..
put the line back in and run a catch can.
the pcv IS a vacuum and needs that line.

yea I'm I mis read your post. it is a vacuum. regardless ya need to put that line back.
the vacuum is what cools the system.

a catch can is a normal mod and a good idea when having blow-by.
I had a similar issue on my 91 and it was actually causing pcv blowout. I lost like 4 quarts of mobil1 FTL.

If your having that much blow by you need to have a data log done and see what's going on. a compression test is also a great idea.

if your rings are shot enough to be causing that much blowby than you would probably feel like your car doesnt have any power. I dont know what would be causing it though, my drivers side tube from the cover to the intake tube seems to suck up oil too, but I dont really burn any oil or have any smoke coming from anything. But you really do need to at least have your pcv hooked up for the computers sake, it will start adjusting shit it dont have to to make up for the smog induction (ok, making new phrases here) to work correctly. Ive noticed before from unhhoking those my car starting acting wierd, unhhoking to test issues i used to have.

My car is supercharged and I put the little air compressor filter tube on it to catch the blow by and it's barely got like maybe 6 drops worth of oil in it in the past like 5 months I think I put it on... so there definitely is a problem there... I would guess the piston rings, that's what causes most of the blow by especially if it isn't supercharged.

you said white smoke? sounds like a blown head gasket or something.
