My last tank I got 25.5 MPG, it was about 60% highway and the rest was in town. I have increased my MPG from 17-18 to 23-25 since I have started hypermiling. It works wonders and I drive an automatic, bet I'd get even better with a stick.

It depends on how you drive it. I get about 21-22 mpg and that is through the city and highway 85 miles a day. i get about 280 miles to a tank. If you coast a lot and drive at 55mph, and shift low, you can polly get those higher numbers like 27-29. i just cant drive at 55mph.

I don't go over 65 on the highway, usually keep it around 62 MPH, I coast to all stops, I try to keep my RPM low, in the 1200-1300 range and I never accelerate to a stop. I also try to guess lights, when they change and what not, to avoid coming to complete stops. Makes a world of difference, I drive an Auto too, be even better I'm sure if I have a stick to work with.

for anyyone who says they get 15-17 miles a gallon and you get about 240 on a tank. your a dumbass, to get 15 miles a gallon on a 15 gallon tank you must get atleast 300miles on the tank..... 240 miles a tank on a 15.6 gallon tanks is like, 14. something mpgs

Hmm, tru tru, but you have to take into account how much they are filling up. for instance, I filled up somethin like 13.9 or 13.2 gals or something and divided the trip mileage I had since last full by that. gave me about 21.3 or something like that.

Im making 320+ all motor with 4.10s... and I get about 16~17 city if i stay out of it and around 22~23 highway cruising between 70-80 mph..

It's all in the tune... Want better mileage? STay out of it and Get a better tune...

I had an instance where i had about a half a tank and i raced a few times and got on it quite a bit and averaged 11 mpg for that half a tank of gas...

to get an estimate of your mpgs,

drive your car until the fuel light comes on, then drive it a few miles to almost drain it, then fill it completely up!! if you have a 15.6 gallon tank, fill up about 15 gallons to account for the gas still in there that you didnt use, then drive your car till the light comes on again and then drive a few more miles to use as much as possible without running it empty.

then see how many miles your trip says, if it said 260 you divide however much gas you put in by that. 260 divided by 15= less than 15mpgs, theres no way you guys say you get over 20mpg with a tank under 260, 240, 220, or whatever.

do your math.....

I realize they are teaching new math in schools now days, but I always thought 15 x 15 = 225. And 240 miles/15.6 gallons is 15.4 mpg. Why are they a dumbass?

Me thinks some people make calculating gas mileage too difficult. Just fill up the tank and set the trip meter to zero. The next time you stop for gas fill up the tank and look at the trip meter to see how far you went. You don't have to have an empty tank to calculate gas mileage.

yeah, when i say 250 miles, thats not counting the other 2 gallons i have left when my Fuel light comes on.

But anyway on my last tank i ran my car pretty hard since i hadn't driven it in a while so i felt the need for speed almost everyday and i was running her pretty hard for that week. So from my full tank to when my fuel light came on i got 240miles. I only lost 10 miles from driving normal to driving hard. thats pretty sweet if you ask me.
