getting ready for cam install
I am going to be installing Hitech stage 2 cams and springs in the next few days. Before I start I was just looking for tips or advice form those who have installed cams before. Any tips or suggestions would be appreciative it looks pretty straight forward. I will take some pictures through the process.
Thanks John

I was reading up on degreeing them , hitech motorsports says no degreeing is needed with these cams. They are a well known shop who does custom builds and say they are ground to put in just using the dots. I will take the time to degree them however or atleast check everything out to make sure its good. you can check the out at hitechmotorsports.com
thanks John

Degree them. the stock gears can be up to 8 degrees off of each other when put together bank wise. So say the Cam Center line is 113. THe passenger is advanced 109 and the drivers is 117. You will have big idle problems if you dont degree them to within 2º. Mine were within 1 degree.
Also use a copper pipe instead of the cams in there to replace the valve springs. That way you dont have cam lobes in the way. And make sure you put paper towels down in the bottom of the heads so the little valve keepers cant fall down anywhere. And make sure to have a magnet handy. Those keepers are a PITA
