Just Bought 99 GT Vert, Question about Clutch

I just picked up a 99 GT and I noticed compared to all the other manual cars I have driven, this clutch grabs the highest. After the clutch engages, I still have to let the clutch up about 5 inches or so until its all the way up. So is my clutch just worn since its original from 99, or is there a way to adjust the pedal to sit lower and make the clutch catch at a lower point? I searched around the forums but did not find any solid answers to this question. From where the clutch pedal sits to when I press it all the way in, has to be a good foot or more all the way to the floor, Im not use to a clutch having so much slack towards the floor. Any suggestions?

Chris

the quadrant might of jumped a tooth, there is a way to go in and adjust it by pushing in the clutch and moving the quadrant to another lower tooth i think

lift up with your toe on the clutch pedal. try to make it 'click'. thats its adjusting mechanism.

all the stock clutch mustangs i have driven are like that. the clutch starts to engage right when you let it off the floor.. its annoying having to push it down so far every time but you'll get used to it. or put a aftermarket clutch in and you'll see a huge difference. stay away from spec though.

Thats just the opposite of my clutch, I would like that. It catches very high, I want to lower the engaging point, Ill have to take a look tomorrow. Like I said the clutch is either worn since its the stock clutch, or something else that Im not sure of since this is my first Mustang.
