differential

My rear end of my Mustang GT '01 sounds really bad. Since one week it makes a noise. I know the best way is to recondition it but I just wanna make sure there's enough oil in it. I don't know how to check the level of it.
Anybody knows how?

Thanks for your help

Theres a plug in the casing you have to take out and then you just stick your finger in the hole and make sure the oil is right at the edge of the hole.

I'm not talking about the transmission, it's the rear axle. There's no plug or bolt to take out. This thing is completly closed like I saw.
I really don't know where to look???

there isn't a drain, you have to remove the cover to get the fluid out. I doubt its a fluid problem though.

Thats the fill point, but like White said, to drain it, you have to pull the rear cover off...

yeah. But thats how you can check to see if you have a good amount of fluid. stick your pinky in there and if you get some nice 90W then your good. if not fill it up.
