When I started the car today, The noise was totally gone. So.. I drove it, and still nothing, it SEEMS to be back to normal but I still have to have things checked out

rubicon ftw! i will do that trail someday... we have some pretty gnarly trails in WA too..

anyways... my engine has a slight knocking too. zip will probably remember i started a thread about it probably a year ago. its barely noticeable when its cold and when it warms up its almost non-existent but still there if i really listen for it at about 2400 rpms. anyway's i've completely hammered on my car in the last year and it won't let go so i don't even worry about it anymore lol. if it goes out i'm gonna get a forged shortblock and possibly send my heads to ACmillr for some porting. i'll be riding the motorcycle for a while if my engine lets go thats for sure.

yeah My b.f called me today, he just finished the trail it took him One and half days and he said it was awesome, he was really impressed. he went up there thinking it was gonna suck ass like most of the trails around here.

I know there are good trails in WA , when we lived there we went and found a few. and TONS of mud! which was awesome.

I was secretly hoping I was gonna have to do some engine work so I could get new stuff and have an excuse to do it.. lol

Hmm.

Well the good news is a rod or main bearing, or bad cam bearing noise doesn't come and go.

So this leads me more to thinking along the lines of a broken or loose exhaust hanger, or exhaust heat shield, or perhaps your throw out bearing is fubarred.

Another possibility is an exhaust leak, but again, if there is a loose connection or bad o ring somewhere, that type of thing also doesn't come and go.
