My Mustang Shuts Off After I Get Off Of The Highway Whats Goin On???

My 04 mustang gt shuts off after i get off of the highway. the rpms will go under 1000 jump back up to 1000 then die. i am able to start it right back up and it seems to run fine minus the low rpm's while ideling, the car has longtubes and the cats are off i think the 02 sensors were takein off as well. i just had a tune up and only use premium gas. i cant think of what the problem would be since i take great care of my car, any ideas?

check both your terminal connections for corrosion and to see if they are both tight, if your air filter came off it can do all sorts of messed up things, so check that

is it an auto or a standard? may not apply to our cars but i dunno, ive got a stick. i know on a lot of cars i saw when i worked in a small shop, they would come in with a similar problem and it was because the converter lockup solenoid was going bad. again i dunno if our cars use em, but thats what it sounds like to me

with your car running, try disconnecting the plug on your idle control valve. if the car tries to die when you unplug it, your problem is elsewhere. but if you unplug the connector and there is no change then your IAC valve is likely the culprit. the surging idle kind of gave me the idea that it could be a bad valve.

Your battery light will be on....this is normal when the car is not running.

if its shutting off randomly it could be the fuel filter has gone bad. I had that problem, changed mine out and problem was fixed

Could also be a bad fuel pump.
