01 GT Internals

Would buying a new forged rotating assembly be almost as good as buying an aftermarket longblock or is the stock block to weak also like the rest of the GT's internals. I figured this is a cheaper route. Correct me if I am wrong.

its what you want to do thats the answer to this ? the block is strong enough to do whatever. the stock internals are weak but easily upgradable and would be a little chaeper espescially if you so it yourself. a forged long block is ready for external assembly and will save time. quality would be the same as long as it is done right.

the block is very strong. if you want to save some money, do just the internals with cobra crank, rods, and forged pistons.

4.6 2V Forged short block, Diamond racing pistons, Mod Max Manely rods, Cobra(4340) crank, Cobra oil pump, ARP main studs

Stage II ported and polished PI heads, Oversized ferrea valves, Competition valve job, Manley valve springs, Bronze valve guides

OEM multilayer steel head gaskets

Spec billet steel flywheel

ARP head stud

That is my build of my motor...

It will hold over 450hp...The stock block would be fine...Just forge the internals...

i say just get the internals, and then have a shop balance it and do the work, itll be cheaper than buying a shortblock but will take longer also

the stock block will handle more power than most of us would ever think about throwing at it
